A new theme
I know it was North Dakota in February, but these shows were hot! I wore a long-sleeved sweater to the show the night before and nearly melted, so tonight I had decided, never mind the temperature outside, I'm going back to summer short sleeves! It must have been pretty hot on stage too - for "Renegade," JY came back out in a t-shirt that said "Fargo" on it! I haven't seen him on stage in a t-shirt in a long time - he looked great! The rolled up sleeves were a nice touch!
The "stuff' the guys toss to the crowd at the end of the show has a new theme - the guitar picks are white, with their names, the Styx logo and website and a US flag imprinted in red and blue. The beach balls have red, white and blue panels instead of black and white. And the towels have the Styx logo stitched in horizontal red, white and blue stripes, just like my pin! I didn't get any "stuff" but I got some nice smiles, a wink and a couple of eyebrow wiggles from the stage, and that will do it for me any day!
During "Come Sail Away," the two people on my left had actually gotten their coats, turned and left! I don't understand that, but I politely let them get by (behind me, thanks). Then I moved over two spots, closer to the center, followed closely by the people on my right! After the show, I turned around and went back to my original seat, and was stunned to see that my coat was gone. I had left it folded over the back of the seat, but it wasn't there, and wasn't on the floor nearby. I said to myself, out loud (because it was still way too noisy to hear yourself think, so if I was going to have a decent conversation with myself, it had to be out loud), "Nobody would have taken my coat; where did it go?" A woman from the row behind me said, "There it is," and pointed two seats down, where I had been standing at the end of the show. Sure enough, there was my coat, folded nicely over the back of that seat. Before I could even try to figure that out, she said, "When we saw you move, we moved your coat for you." Wow! The people I met in North Dakota were so nice - and they take coats very seriously!
On the way out, I happened to see Jason, so I said hello to him and thanked for him for coming out in the cold with Glen the night before. I also apologized for completely spacing out as soon as I recognized Glen - I don't know if I even said hello to Jason! He was very nice, as ever, and I was glad I got the chance to say hi and thanks tonight!
