I had to keep alert, because JY, Glen, Tommy and Lawrence all kept returning to the spot where I was standing. JY and Glen like to stand right out on the very edge of the stage, so I had to make sure I kept my hands out of the way so as not to get stepped on! At one point I saw something out of the corner of my eye and had to move back out of the way of a big black Glen Burtnik sneaker heading right at me! I'm sure it looked closer than it was, but with his toes approximately at my eye level, better safe than sorry! Glen saw my gloves fairly early on too, and gave me a smile.
When JY was standing in front of me playing, my gloves were up as high as I could get them and out on display. This is truly what these little gloves were born for. They have a "J" and a "Y" on the palms to point at the stage, but they also have a "J" and a "Y" on the backs, so anyone behind me can see too and not just think my hands are cold or something. I held them up at JY's feet while he played, not to get his attention, but just as my small sequined tribute. Believe me, if I could figure out how to get these gloves to light up in neon and flash on and off, they would do it! Occasionally JY would smile down at me, so I don't think he minded the attention.
This was definitely ladies' lingerie night - bras and panties of every color flew up on stage and most of them ended up on Glen's bass at one time or another. Several even ended up on Tommy's head! Hey, I don't try to explain, I just report!
