Meeting people you know - but don't
I went back to my seat and started looking around. Over toward the center, I saw the same two faces I had seen the night before in Lowell! This time I had to go over and say something, so I walked over and said the strange greeting that only people on internet mailing lists understand: "Hi, I'm on the list too, who are you?" Actually I told them I had seen them the night before in Lowell with their "Got Styx?" t-shirts, so I knew they must be on the Styx mailing list. One was Linda, who I recognized because she always brings flowers. When I said that, sure enough she pointed to a bouquet she had stashed under her chair! The other was Edith, who I also recognized because she had posted something on the Styxworld bulletin board saying she would be at this show. I talked to them for a few minutes - I'm glad I got to meet them at this show!
Karen, the person I had planned to meet, had told me where her seats were going to be, and she was also making a special t-shirt to wear that would be blue with pink sleeves. I looked over and there was someone with a blue t-shirt with "Styx Fanatic" on the back, and pink sleeves, so I went over and said "You must be Karen!" and got to meet her and her family. She said she figured the same thing I did about the rain, that we'd find each other inside, and wondered where Edith might be, so I told her I had found her at the end of the row! After we chatted for a while and took a picture, I left to go look at guitars some more and then went back to my seat.
