The Amazing REO Speedwagon
REO took the stage and everyone stood at first, then most people sat back down. At first I didn't, since I was kind of on the end and in the front row anyway. Who wants to SIT in the front row? (Well apparently everyone else, but never mind.) When Bruce came over to his side of the stage, which was where I was, he gave me that big wide-mouth smile that he does, and I gave it back to him! He was just reacting to a crazed, clapping, singing, smiling girl in the front row, I'm sure, but it was nice!
Security was trying to keep the path between the front row and the stage clear, but from time to time someone would come up to the stage and stand for a few minutes, or beg for a guitar pick, and the security guys would let them stay for a little while, as long as it didn't look like a trend was developing. Kind of odd to see just one person standing up at the stage - they had to not mind drawing a lot of attention to themselves, but they usually did get rewarded with a pick! Sometimes people would come up to the front and take a picture or two, and security also didn't seem to mind that as long as they didn’t stay there. There was one center aisle also, and people from the floor would come out into the aisle and stand there and dance, filling up the aisle but not moving much past the front row. There were security staffers sitting in chairs against the stage in front of each aisle (both sides and the middle) and they would let the center aisle fill up for a few songs, then clear the people out and make them sit down, and then it would slowly start again. As far as I could see from where I was, no one was being disruptive, just having a good time.
