Chuck
came back out onstage for "Come Sail Away" and "Renegade",
with a snazzy black Stetson hat for Renegade I might add! During
"Renegade," instead of just taking a Polaroid of Tommy like he
usually does, Lawrence lined up the whole band in his viewfinder, including
Todd, who was standing behind his drum kit and waving a stick for attention,
and Lawrence held the camera still and stepped around it into the picture. I
saw the result on Friday night, and it came out better than you'd think! At
some point during the night JY handed me a guitar pick, his hand to mine… I
couldn't tell you which song, I tend to lose brain cells at moments like
those! It is a 2001 pick - if you can't read the year because of the wear
and tear, trust me, it is 2001 - it's a used guitar pick, what can I say?
A little while later, between songs, Glen came over and handed me the top half
of one of Todd's destroyed drumsticks, which I thought was very sweet of him!
"Stuff" is good! I also got a pick of Tommy's that broke, that JY
later kicked over at me. This is a 2000 one… go figure. Someone else got a
pick from Glen that said "Nigel," so I guess Glen and Tommy are
still trying to use up their old picks! The guys were all on top of their game
from start to finish, and it was a fantastic show!
